Best of 2012: Sci-fi and Dystopia
Hello! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I hope you all had an excellent holiday–I certainly did!
Starting today, I’ll be posting five straight days of Best of 2012 videos. In today’s video, I list my top five Sci-fi or Dystopian reads that were released this year.

Definitely awesome choices!!!! And I wasn’t a fan of dystopian but some of these books made me a fan:))
So agree with For Darkness Shows the Stars and The Darkest Minds! I think The Darkest Minds will be the next “big one” that everyone will be talking about in the coming years. I haven’t even heard of The Lost Girl, so I will definitely be checking into that one. Insignia has been enormous in my MS library–particularly with my 8th grade boys. Haven’t read Cinder yet. Great picks!
I could not get the video to play from your blog site, so in case I am not the only one, it does play on YouTube (click YouTube in the corner of the video, Watch on YouTube).

Oh, I liked Cinder. Can’t wait for the sequel. And I’ve never heard of For Darkness Shows the Stars. I’ll have to look into it.

Thanks for making this video, Lauren! I can’t wait to watch the rest of this series. I realize that I haven’t read any of your top 5 favorite sci-fi/dystopian books… that’s bad. XD I SO need to get my hands on Cinder! Awesome picks, Lauren!

Your enthusiasm for these books is addictive, my friend, and so I must run to Lost Girl and Insignia soon. I don’t imagine you’d spread the vlog love if they weren’t so awesome. I actually own the latter so WOO! I love a good cyberpunk story with an awesome male narrator. :)

Just fantastic. There are some amazing books around.
Nice :)
My favorites this year I think probably have been Daughter Of Smoke And Bone, The Hunger Games (I just have read them 3, even when was time a go when they came out) The Maze Runner, The next Thing On My List (Jill Smolinski) Hummm.. I think that’s all.
I’m hoping one day i’ll read The Darkest Minds :)
